Hormonal, Perimenopause & Menopause Support
Emotional wellbeing can be affected by many life and hormonal transitions. I offer support for women experiencing:
Perimenopause and Menopause
If you are noticing emotional, physical or psychological changes during this stage of your life, you may feel anxious, unsettled or unlike yourself.
Hormonal Mood Changes (such as those experienced with PMDD type symptoms)
Some women experience significant emotional shifts linked to their cycle, which can feel intense, out of control and disruptive to their daily lives.
“Unrecognisable to myself”
You may be noticing changes in how you are feeling and not quite recognising yourself anymore.
I am supporting more and more women who are experiencing intense hormonal changes, as well as women who are at mid-life with perimenopausal and menopausal symptoms. Women repeatedly comment on how they are left feeling confused, overwhelmed or let down by medical professionals. This is either by the support they’ve received, or by the sheer amount of information out there.
For some younger women, there is often confusion and uncertainty around hormonal surges around their menstrual cycle, or even the belief that what they are experiencing is related to their hormones at all.
Equally, it’s not always the traditional ‘hot flushes or panic attacks’ we are often told are the first signs of perimenopause or menopause. You may be experiencing feelings such as anxiety, low mood, irritability, and other physical symptoms and wondering what on earth is happening to you. This uncertainty can feel incredibly frightening and lonely.
Counselling offers you a space to talk openly about how hormones and life transitions are affecting you the most. Every women’s experience of hormonal fluctuations, perimenopause and menopause is different and my aim is to help you make sense of yours in a way that feels calm, supportive and right for you.
